About CHER

The Centre for Higher Education Research supports active higher education researchers at St Andrews by:

• Championing the importance of higher education research at the University of St Andrews.
• Providing mechanisms for networking and collaboration across the university around higher education research themes.
• Enabling more higher education research grant applications by facilitating a vibrant research environment.
• Encouraging knowledge-exchange collaborations between higher education researchers and cognate agencies within the university to influence policy and practice in areas such as pedagogy, evaluation and student experience, student support and retention, and widening participation.

CHER also provides a visible focus for external individuals and agencies interested in understanding the higher education research environment within St Andrews. As higher education research does not naturally fall under one of the schools at St Andrews, CHER provides a focus to centrally represent and celebrate this research activity.
