What is belonging?
Feeling out of place in a classroom, staying quiet in discussions, or skipping social events are common student experiences .
This video, created by researchers from Charles University and the University of St Andrews, explores what belonging in higher education really means: why it matters for motivation, learning, and wellbeing, and how both students and teachers can strengthen it. Belonging isn’t fixed, it’s something we can build together.
The Video was created in the realm of the project Barriers to Belonging and Becoming: Improving the student experience in higher education, which was supported by St. Andrews – Charles University Joint Seed Funding Scheme:
