Symposium Identity and Learning

As part of our initial collaboration with the Charles University Faculty of Education during COVID we hosted an online symposium with participation from Prague and St Andrews. There were seven talks as follows:

  • Irena Smetáčková (CUNI), Jack Simons (Mercy College) – LGBTQ+ students in middle schools
  • Katerina Machovcová (CUNI) – First generation students transition to higher education
  • Barbora Zumrová (CUNI) – Imposter syndrome and its relation to student´s self-concept
  • Helmy Syakh Alam (STMIK Primakara) – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Its Role in Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia
  • Paula Miles (St Andrews) — Postgraduate student wellbeing: the impact of Covid and beyond
  • Elena Strobl (Bath) & Ken Mavor (St Andrews) — Money over meaning? Neoliberalism, social mobility, meaningful identity and learning in higher education
  • Ewan Bottomley (St Andrews) — Women’s experiences of imposter syndrome in undergraduate physics: A proposed intervention.
